Cabalgatas Valiceras

Endless Beach Horseback Riding along Rocha Coast Trail

  • 5 Days/ 4 Nigths (Flexible: 2, 3, 4 or 5 days)
  • Intermedium (4 a 6 daily Horseback riding)
  • Barra de Valizas (Rute 10, km 271)

Over the course of 5 days we will ride on well-trained horses and comfortable saddles, through uninhabited areas where nature is the main attraction.

Extensive beaches in protected areas, small fishing villages and a diversified marine flora and fauna will accompany our adventure.
For an even greater proximity with the surroundings, we will accommodate ourselves in camping style. Camp Fire, playing Truco and drinking Mate will be the order of the day, and why not night fishing “a la encadilada” or a nocturnal walk in search of noctilucae.
Cabalgatas Valiceras offers a trip across an area in Uruguay, where the countryman lives daily with the man of the sea.
At the end, a lovely surprise will help us return to our jobs in an ideal state of relaxation…

Our Meeting Point is located near the mouth of Arroyo Valizas in the ocean, where the horses will have to swim across! And we go on boat! An outstanding location to begin this 5-day adventure.
We ride along the coast and largest dunes, until reaching Cabo Polonio. Then, we do a guided tour around Cabo, visiting the old lighthouse, observing the sea-lions, dolphins and, if we are fortunate, southern right whale!
In the afternoon, after lunch on the seafront, we return to Valizas along the south seaside, crossing the woodland, then going around the creek until finally arriving in Barra de Valizas.
Returning to Barra de Valizas, we will set up our first camp of this adventure.

We will tour the town of Barra de Valizas on horseback, the Mount Forest of pines and eucalyptus, reaching Briosso Lagoon through a region full of giant bulrush and, with some luck, we may catch sight of typical birds like herons and whispering ibis, among others. Along the beach shoreline, and with a breathtaking view of the dunes behind us, we will arrive in Aguas Dulces to have lunch.
In the afternoon, we will continue our ride to El Cocal camping, where Carlos will be expecting us with some good Mates and something to eat for our horses. Here, we will have dinner and spend the night in camping style accommodation.

Arriving in La Coronilla, we will have lunch in an old hotel that has been renovated over recent years and, nowadays, is a family business that combines both spirit of the countryside and the beach.

And as promised; we will end our journey with a relaxing swim in the pool and Jacuzzi at the hotel…
